Hanjijang, or the craft of making traditional Korean paper, is Korea’s Intangible Cultural Property #117. This is the first time I have ever painted on Hanji, but it is something I will do for the rest of my life. Hanji has been an important resource for calligraphers, and is sustainably produced. It’s regarded as one of the finest and most durable papers as it can last for 1,000 years.
